About Us
Kuhns Power Equipment LLC, doing business as Power Dog Equipment of Nappanee, Indiana, was founded in 2003 by the Kuhns family. It all started when the Kuhns brothers compared notes on a less-than-ideal tiller purchase and decided a better machine could be built. The result was a hydraulic tiller with variable speed on the go, instant forward and reverse, and tines that run in either direction.
More than twenty years later, we’re still committed to manufacturing equipment that benefits the operator in comfort, performance, and reliability. Kuhns Power Equipment is owned by three Kuhns brothers — LeRoy, Samuel, and Glenn — with day-to-day operations and assembly managed by sons Lavon and Loren Kuhns. Working with family, neighbors, and friends within our community has been deeply rewarding, and we enjoy serving every new customer who comes our way.

Shepherd
The Shepherd 48″ walk-behind mower is equipped with some very unique features. Its commercial-grade structure blends a 7-gauge steel deck with stainless steel baffles for easy cleaning and longevity. The Shepherd also features new fountain-style controls, a pivoting front axle, and Blitz deck adjust — all on a floating deck mower. A great choice for commercial use as well as any serious homeowner.

Ambush
